L.Q. Snyder has a way with words. From the moment I started reading this book, until the final sentence, I was unable to put it down. Witty humor, steamy romance that doesn't feel R-rated, and emotional circumstances are just a few of the things I loved about L.Q.'s writing. A mythical universe full of fantastic characters with supernatural abilities was gripping, but the romantic entanglements of the characters kept me coming back for more. I really loved the balance between a fantasy world, sci-fi technology, super-human abilities, and a romantic triangle with a twist. The characters of this book are so well written that you will feel as though they are real people. There are those you will love, those you will hate, and even a couple you will love to hate. Once you start reading, you will be hooked. Wish i could give this book a ten star review because it deserves it. Can't wait for the next book in the series to be released!Product details

This was definitely worth reading. Characters are well-thought out and the plot draws you in. You don't realize how the story is going to go until you really get into the story.
This book is filled with dynamic, complex characters, unexpected plot twists, and a story line that never lags. A must read!
I loved the book. The characters were well developed. I hope this is the first in a series as I cant wait to read another. This is a very promising author with a bright future. Do not hesitate to buy this book!

This was a really pleasant surprise, the story is engaging and it's easy to imagine what's happening.
My only complaint is that some of the characters are a bit muddled and hard to keep track of.
The Planet Shaker is a fabulously written science fiction tale about the inhabitants of two worlds who discover their ability to manipulate the elements and the intricacy of governmental influences that seeks to keep this power in check. The characters are well developed and the interplay of romance, intrigue, and conspiracy easily keep the pages turning to see what the ultimate outcome will be. The romance does get a little steamy, so I would probably not recommend this novel for pre-teens; but those older should absolutely find The Planet Shaker a highly enjoyable read!
I couldn't put this book down! The Planet Shaker has a fast paced plot, never a dull moment and the author always leaves you wanting more.
The history of the two planets, Lorant and Aquinna, and their people peaked my interest from the beginning. You discover along with the characters how Lorant came to be in Aquinna's orbit and where the slave race of Lorantians came from in the first place, changing everything Aquinnahns have been taught about them.
The best part though, is the well written characters. Lena, the main character, is one of my favorites. She's very relatable, always struggling with her place in life. She has a blossoming relationship with her former professor but finds herself inexplicably drawn to another man. She struggles to control her abilities while the other recruits seem to have instant success. She doesn't even fit in with her own family, who can't understand her ambitions to become a professor. The two men in Lena's life are Kiran a handsome professor who is dedicated to Lena but also focused on his work and Chelan who is forever restless until he meets Lena. He can't explain his connection with her but he knows her feelings and senses where she is at all times. Kiran and Chelan are both such great characters I don't know who I want Lena to be with in the end! Another great character is Shamaya, a member of the so called 'inferior' race of Lorantians. She is recruited to a dance company where she is taught to look and act like an Aquinnahn. She is torn between her true identity and who she pretends to be.
And there are so many other great characters to meet! The focus the author puts on the characters makes the sci-fi parts feel like a natural part of the story so even if you aren't typically a sci-fi fan give this book a chance and I'm sure you'll love it too. Romance, adventure, politics, mystery, there definitely is something for everyone!
I thoroughly enjoyed The Planet Shaker and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series! Hurry L.Q. Synder. I HAVE to know what happens next!
